Fall 2011 - Service: Our Faith in Action!
Sunday, Sep. 18, 11:30-12:30 – Kick off Meeting – Youth and Parents, Taco Bar at Church. We’ll sign up to bring ingredients. Welcome, discuss yearly plan, summer trip, parent forms, adult/parent volunteers, and fundraisers
Sunday, Sep. 25, 2:15 PM – Load at church and visit the Pres House in Madison.
At 3:00 PM. we’ll meet with the musicians from the Pres House and run through the music for worship, set up a meal, attend worship, serve the meal, clean up and head back home around 7:00 PM. We could use some additional drivers. The Women’s group from FPC, Oregon will help with the event.
Sunday, Oct. 2 – Homecoming Cook Out meal and Bike ride with our alumni!
We’ll share brats and burgers following worship and then load up to bike around lake Monona. We’ll start peddling at Olin Park with a traditional stop at Monona Bait Shop for ice cream…. or hot chocolate… depending. Let’s all reach out to alumni from the last three or four years and invite them to come along. It would be great to catch up with them and see how they are doing. Let’s plan on being back to church by 3:30. Again, we could probably use some additional drivers.
October 2 is also World Communion Sunday and we’ll wrap up our drive for items to be sent to our military through the “Honor Our Military” Program.
Sunday, Oct. 9 – Packing care packages for the Honor Our Military Program.

We’ll meet after worship and have some lunch. We’ll all sign up to bring some fixins. The main activity will be boxing up items donated for the care packages and who knows…. Maybe some music rehearsals. We should be done around 1:00 PM
Sunday Oct. 16 – Late Morning to Mid Afternoon-Savory Sunday – prepare and Serve a meal. Savory Sunday is a non- profit group connected to the Lutheran Campus Center where meals are prepared, then served in the Capitol basement for those in need in the Madison Area. Volunteers are needed to prep and serve food. The prep shift is 11:15- 1:30 and the serving shift is from 1:30- 3:30. We’ll have to decide: either or both?
Saturday, Oct. 22 – Afternoon leaf raking and bonfire!
We’ll rake leaves for friends of the church and finish the day with a cookout and bonfire at the Jones Family Farm
Sunday, Oct. 23 – “Wrap Up” During Worship/Load Out Oregon-Brooklyn Food Pantry
We’ll wrap up the unit by presenting a moment for missions and sing somewhere in the service. Following worship, we have been asked to load food donations for the Oregon Food Pantry.
Winter 2011-2012 - Our Faith in Worship!
Wednesday- Friday- Dec. 28-30 – Winter Retreat at Camp Wyoming
We’ll join other Presbyterian youth from the region for a three-day retreat in Iowa. Cost is $85.00 per youth
Sunday, Jan. 8, 2012, 11:30- 12:30 AM – Start of Winter unit – prepare for Youth Sunday. Lunch at Church. We’ll sign up to bring fixins. We’ll meet and do some planning for Youth Sunday including picking a theme, activities, and music and leadership roles.
Sunday, Jan 15, 2012, 9:15 – 10:30 AM – Continue prep for Youth Sunday
We’ll meet with Sunday School Classes and involve all youth in preparation
